Goals
My Goals for 2024:
Below I have written out my goals for the upcoming year starting in November because for me, doing annual goals based on my solar return makes the most sense and gets me the most fired up. However, a year is a long time to be specific and descriptive with goals so what I plan to do is follow my 6 Steps for Creating Intentional Goals for the current 3-month objectives. Once the 3 months have been completed, I will share my progress!
This feels scary to share but I hope that it inspires you to set and achieve goals for yourself. I believe there is a lot to gain, learn, and explore through goal setting.

NOVEMBER 2023 - JANUARY 2024 GOALS

Personal “Amanda” goals:
-
Mail cards! This is the year of cards!
-
Starting with handwritten Christmas cards
-
At the start of each month, see whose birthday is coming up and mail them a card.
-
-
Stay connected with friends that I do not live near. Shoot them a text if they come to mind.
-
Meet new friends in Tahoe who are on the same page. Less party, more adventure, bonus if they are active parents. By my actions supporting my priorities, I will find people with similar priorities and that's when the magic happens. Be patient.
-
Journal more! Write as much as possible. For fun, for work, for processing, as an outlet, whatever it is.
-
Have East Coast Christmas presents wrapped before flying out west.
-
Get outside and enjoy living in Tahoe as much as possible. See friends, enjoy being sober, and soak up this fresh start.
-
Buy a new (to me) car
-
Be gentle with my postpartum body while regaining muscle which looks like daily walks, weight training when I can, and easing into cardio with running. Remember what this body has done over the past year and be grateful even if I don't feel as strong.
-
Wash my face and floss once a day.
-
Go to the dentist in Truckee for a cleaning
Mommy goals:
-
Get cross-country skis and a trailer to tow Conrad
-
Find a balance with being a working mom. First I'm a mom, second I'm a coach.
-
Own my role at home. Ask for help when I need it
-
Learn what works for our family. Be willing to ask questions and stay curious while being okay with what we choose to do. Don’t take things personally or get too comparative.
-
Being present and patient with Conrad. When I'm feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or like a bad mom, take a breath, and another one, and another one...
Relationship goals:
-
Put effort in for 1:1 time with Seth like dinner dates, ski dates, watching a movie together, hanging by the fire, bringing him treats, etc
-
Clear communication, especially when I’m feeling emotional or worked up
-
Find our balance and our groove with house chores and Conrad. We share responsibilities
Home goals:
-
Find housing in Tahoe and move in
-
Don’t overpack on our move out west, keep it simple
-
Keep healthy food stocked and prepped when necessary
-
Remember that a clean house isn't always the priority. It's okay to have dirty floors and dishes in the sink sometimes.
